SURFACE PREPARATION & MIXING

  1. Mechanical Prep: Grind concrete to ICRI CSP 2-3 profile. Vacuum slab dust-free.
  2. Moisture Check: Slab must test <3 lbs MVER or <75% RH. If higher, apply MVB 49.
  3. Pigment Incorporation: Pre-mix 1 jar (150g) Epoxy49 Metallic Pigment per gal Part A.
  4. Mix Ratio: Accurately combine 2 Parts A to 1 Part B by volume in clean mixing pail.
  5. Mechanical Mix: Blend 3 minutes with spiral paddle at 350 RPM. Scrape bucket sides.
  6. Immediate Placement: Empty contents immediately onto floor in continuous ribbons.
  7. Spread & Back-Roll: Spread with 18" Magic Trowel or notched squeegee; back-roll with 3/8" nap.
  8. Coverage Yield: Metallic flow: 125–150 sq. ft. per 3-gal kit (32–40 wet mils). Neat: 300–450 sq. ft.
  9. Artistic Movement: Mist 91% Isopropyl alcohol within 20 min to create custom marbling effects.
  10. Recoat Window: 8 to 24 hours. If >24 hrs, mechanically abrade with 80-grit screen.

SURFACE PREPARATION & MIXING

  1. Mechanical Prep: Diamond grind slab to CSP 2-3 profile. Vacuum concrete dust thoroughly.
  2. Moisture Check: Slab must test <3 lbs MVER. Does NOT block hydrostatic vapor pressure.
  3. Mix Ratio: Accurately combine 2 Parts A with 1 Part B by volume into clean mixing pail.
  4. Mechanical Mix: Blend 3 minutes with low-speed drill (350 RPM) and spiral blade.
  5. Immediate Pour: Pour ribbon onto concrete slab. Do not allow to stand in container.
  6. Spread Technique: Spread with flat squeegee to force primer into concrete micro-pores.
  7. Back-Rolling: Immediately back-roll with 3/8" lint-free roller to create uniform wet film.
  8. Coverage: 200-250 sq. ft./gal (600-750 sq. ft. per 3-gal kit) applied at 6-8 wet mils.
  9. Base Coat Recoat: Apply base coat once primer is tack-free (typically 6-8 hours).
  10. Abrasion Window: If recoat window exceeds 24 hours, abrade with 80-grit sanding screen.

SURFACE PREPARATION & MIXING

  1. Mechanical Prep: Shot blast or diamond grind concrete to ICRI CSP 3. Vacuum dust completely.
  2. Pre-Mix: Separately stir Part A for 1 minute. Accurately measure 2 Parts A to 1 Part B by volume.
  3. Mechanical Mix: Blend 3 minutes with low-speed drill (350 RPM). Scrape bucket walls and bottom.
  4. Immediate Placement: Empty contents immediately onto slab in ribbons (exotherm risk in bucket).
  5. High Moisture App: Spread with 3/16" or 1/4" V-notched squeegee at 100-120 sq ft/gal (14–16 wet mils).
  6. Moderate Moisture App: Spread at 130-150 sq ft/gal (11–12 wet mils) for slabs up to 15 lbs MVER.
  7. Back-Rolling: Immediately cross-roll with 3/8" nap lint-free roller perpendicular to squeegee pulls.
  8. Pinhole Inspection: Inspect cured film for outgassing pinholes. A continuous monolithic film is mandatory.
  9. Recoat Window: 8 to 16 hours. Apply base coat within this window without mechanical abrading.
  10. Abrasion Window: If recoat window exceeds 24 hours, abrade with 60-80 grit sanding screen.

SURFACE PREPARATION & MIXING

  1. Substrate Readiness: Base coat must be tack-free. If epoxy cured >24 hrs, abrade with 120-grit screen.
  2. Dew Point Check: Substrate temperature must be at least 5°F (3°C) above the calculated dew point.
  3. Mix Ratio: Accurately combine 1 Part A to 1 Part B by volume or weight in a clean container.
  4. Mechanical Mix: Blend 2 minutes with spiral paddle at 350 RPM. Do NOT aerate or whip micro-bubbles.
  5. Rapid Working Time: Working time is 15-20 min. Higher humidity significantly accelerates curing speed!
  6. Immediate Placement: Pour ribbon immediately onto floor. Pull with flat squeegee or magic trowel.
  7. Cross-Rolling: Immediately back-roll in both directions with 18" 3/8" nap lint-free roller.
  8. Smooth Topcoat: 200–250 sq. ft./gal (400–500 sq. ft. per 2-gal kit) applied at 6-8 wet mils.
  9. Flake Grout Coat: 125-160 sq. ft./gal (250–320 sq. ft. per 2-gal kit) applied at 10-12 wet mils.
  10. Thickness Limit: Never apply >12 wet mils per coat. Over-application causes solvent/moisture haze.
